Pirelli

The year was 1872, a young engineer named Giovanni Pirelli started a company named Pirelli & C. in Milan, Italy. From the beginning Pirelli made various rubber articles such as telegraph cables and bicycle tyres. In 1901 Pirelli made their first tyres and thanks to Pirelli's success they began to take off. After many years of involvement in the motorsport Pirelli invented a low profile tyre, the famous P7, which was to become one of the most innovative events in the industry. Today, Pirelli boast to be the tyre supplier to Formula 1 and World Superbike Championship, which is a major challenge for the famous company. Pirelli regarded as one of the world's fifth largest tyre manufacturer with a presence in over 160 countries. Pirelli has 22 tyre manufacturing facilities and employs over 34,000 people worldwide. With a strong focus on research and development Pirelli constantly aim to improve the quality of their products in terms of performance, safety and environmental impact.
