Proper valve clearance is one of the most critical, yet commonly overlooked aspects of your motorcycle’s engine. If the valve clearance is too small or if it is too big, your valves, the stem seal, the cam, or the engine’s valve seat could be damaged.
When your valve clearance is correct, your valves will ride on the cam smoothly and the valve head will lightly seal the valve seat just enough for perfect sealing of the compression chamber when the spark plug fires.
